November Sheauga Meeting

Well, here are the photos as promised!

We had our favorite soup and salad dinner followed by a wonderful speaker.

This is our speaker Lisa.  She spoke on Attitude Gratitude. She involved her audience by having them participate in some activities and then she even gave us HOMEWORK!  We are ready to find 3-5 things in our everyday life for which we are grateful and then write them down every day.  Next, we are to connect with someone everyday, acknowledge them, thank them for what they do.  Thirdly, we are to send an unexpected note, e-mail, or gift every week to someone.  Excellent ideas, Lisa!

ABW Day September 22

ABW Day

On September 22, 1949, Hilary A. Bufton, Jr., a Kansas City, Missouri businessman, founded the American Business Women's Association to support business women by helping them reach their educational and career goals. ABWA has dedicated more than 60 years to women's education and provided workplace skills and career-development training for members.

In 1983, a joint Congressional resolution signed by President Ronald Reagan proclaimed Sept. 22nd, the date of the Association’s founding, as American Business Women’s Day. The proclamation set aside this date to annually recognize the achievements not only of ABWA members but also the millions of employed women in the United States.

The Elephant in the Living Room

Last night Marlane Renner gave an excellent talk about anger management.  She held our attention with true life stories and good suggestions to control our anger.  There were 15 women in attendance.  Great meeting, Donna!
