ABWA Christmas Dinner Meeting

Last month it was suggested that reservations for our December 2nd meeting be made with a payment of $20 . We won't have to collect money at the door. Invitations have gone out to many former members.
Our entertainment is Free Harmony, the show choir from Chardon High School. They need lots of space to sing and dance so Donna reserved the bigger room. We would like to fill the tables in there and have a fun evening.
Please send your reservations to Jan Stewart, 9655 Fox Meadow Lane, Chardon, OH 44024 by November 28th.

Good Meeting

Our November 4th meeting was a succesful one. Besides the interesting speaker, good food, and good company, we accomplished quite a lot. We were able to approve our proposed budget and discuss possible spring fundraisers.

John Springer told us about the 15% cut from the state library funds and answered all of our techy questions.

November Issue Published

The latest of issue of Raccoon Tales was just published this week. Sheauga's next meeting is November 4 which is on my birthday and one day after Bonnie's birthday. We will meet at Dino's at 5:30 for networking. The soup has been changed from the broccoli cheddar to a "naked pepper" which means no pepper, I guess. John Springer is going to share his knowledge of computers with us. If you have any computer problems, and frankly, who doesn't? Come and join us.
Call Jan by Mon. 440-285-9292 to make a reservation.

Newsletter almost ready to "hit the presses!"

After working all afternoon on a newsletter template I have 2 full pages complete with photos. Now I have to figure out how to send it via e-mail so everyone else's computer can read it. I have tried attachments. I even tried to "blog" it. I have copied and pasted portions but they never show the true "Newsletter" as it is in its original form. If any of you readers have a suggestion, please write a comment. This is a lifelong learning position!

Blown Away by Women Pilots

The tour of the Women's Air & Space Museum in Cleveland is well worth the trip. We were extremely fortunate to have Connie Luhta as an excellent guide. She pointed out the highlights of each woman pilot's accomplishments. These were renegade women! Yet most were pretty, petite, young and definitely adventurous.

It's Raining in Chardon!

Well, the rain cancelled golf for today at Chardon Lakes. I spent the afternoon cooking sloppy joes for our ABWA picnic tomorrow. You know it is always better the 2nd day. Jerry cleaned his basement so we can be inside or out, depending on the weather.

I received RSVPs from Reena, Bonnie & Sue, Donna, her guest, and Maria who are coming. I also received several from those unable to attend such as Nan and Barb, Darlene, Michaeleen, Janine, and a friend from my church. Keep Nan in your thoughts and prayers. She is going through some tough times with her health.

It looks like a good group for tomorrow. If you have any questions you can call me on my cell phone at 440 567-4408, my home phone 440-285-9292, or Jerry's home 440-286-9185.

Experimenting

Dear ABWA Members,

I have been experimenting with Microsoft Office-Word. There is a "Publisher" menu which is supposed to send your document over to the blog. Part of it came over and the rest is missing.???? I was hoping to publish the entire newsletter this way but it still has bugs. I'll keep trying. At least I am learning a lot in the process.
